Jeff: Beginning of the end, here, huh? Well, more the middle of the end. Nearing the end of the end. Or something. And yes, that is teenaged Lew in the stonkin’ huge portrait on the wall.
Jeremy: This kinda makes one think, did the other members of the band really want to push Elle out for a long time, or did this all progress innocently enough with the hiring of a temporary replacement to fill in for Elle? Regardless of the band’s intentions, it seems like Lorelai just kinda swooped in and took over a bit there, didn’t she?

I feel J has been head bent on pushing Elle out for sometime. Thus leaving her earlier in the story after that one gig, which sent her down the road with the Ouro Bros. Replacements don’t just happen to come in innocently, someone has to have a motive, maybe not the entire band but someone. I think Lew was an easy sale, but Carl was a bit tougher.
Watching Elle approach the door with the trepidation that she does I have a feeling she sensed this was coming. At least they didn’t hand her a tamborine and have her stand in the back until she finally exploded and left on her own. Better to take the bandaid approach with these situations and do it quickly, even though it was still a bit behind her back.
I hope Elle finds a place where her talents can shine. I’m sure if the Ouro Bros can’t use her specifically they can at least give her a hand up and help her to continue using her talent until she finds her spotlight again.
