Jeremy: Remember the last time a silhouetted Balthazar arrived to “shock” Stan and Elle? He was wearing a hat then, too. Looks like Balthazar wears a hat to make major decisions, or so this comic strip would lead us to believe. Also, for some inspiration for the 3rd panel of today’s strip, see this and this. Regarding that second link, I like to think that Chester’s keytar playing is inspired by J.J. Abrams.
Jeff: I think it’s been far too long since “Stifle it!” was a part of everyday conversation…

Love the references in panel 3 not to mention Mark Wahlberg wears a hat.
If anyone can modify that van to accommodate Stan’s new love, I say that because it appears Stan doth protest too much, it’s Chester with his mad skills. Before long their van is going to be like the Tardis, bigger on the inside than it appears.
You are right Jeff I think it’s high time we re-introduced Stifle It! back into our day to day conversations. So I lay down this challenge, at some point today Stifle It! needs to be a part of our conversations, and we need to use it at least twice a week until we successfully hear someone else utter it without thought, then we’ll know for sure that “Stifle it” has not been stifled from our vocabularies. Don’t stifle “Stifle it”!
Stan’s new love, eh? I can only assume you are talking about his new-found ability to display exclamation points over his head.
Oh Stifle It Jeremy, you can see the tension between those two. It’s almost as if they are “drawn” together.
See what I did there…drawn together…drawn…*tap* *tap*…is this thing on?
Panel 1 of this comic is how I pictured you “tapping the mic” at the end of your comment.
I had the same facial expression, but forgot my cue cards.
Stifle it, Jeff!
Hey, Stifle it Jeff!
When one “Stifle it” isn’t enough, just add a “Hey” to the second one. A good rule of thumb. And a double stifling of Jeff. Win-win, in my book.
