Jeff: And now it’s time for something completely different. We’ve always known that Chester’s a massive – and I do mean massive, and in many ways – geek. Thought it was finally time to show a bit of that. So, for the next few weeks, we’ll be following the adventures of Sir Chester. Hope you all enjoy!
Jeremy: ADVENTURE!!! Dismount into ADVENTURE!!!
Sorry, I was just over at a buddy’s place listening to some Stoner/Southern Rock/Metal and I imagined that first little bit being growled over some dirty, jangly, nasty gritty guitars.
Dirty jangles aside, Jeff’s love for role-playing games, mixed with my love for Elfquest, with a tiny visual touch of Prince Valiant, informs this next story, rife with… ADVENTURE!!!

If he’s a cleric, what’s with the battle axe? (although actually that sucker looks more ceremonial than anything else)
Ah, but clerics of Heironeous are trained in both the arts of war, as well as healing. And that’s a halberd, which while not as common for clerics of Heironeous to use as a sword or mace, is certainly within their purview as a standard martial weapon.
Or, y’know, so I’ve heard…
My loins are girded, my breastplate is secure, and my feet are shod and ready to set trail on this Adventure! Let the fun begin!!!
Love the look of Chester in that last panel. This makes me think of Tom Hanks in Mazes and Monsters as his reality and his imagination merge together, well without the march towards suicide at the end.
