The Story So Far…
In case you’re not certain where we’re at, here’s a quick recap:
The Ouro Bros band (Stan, Bal, Elle, & Chester), in order to keep up with a grueling schedule, were constantly driving and playing – but not sleeping – which led to falling asleep at the wheel, and a van crash. They were picked up by a benevolent tribute band, and they and their busted-up Luck Wagon were driven cross-country for some R&R. Now, somewhere around Seattle, the band members are attempting to find parts with which they can repair the van. Chester, the resident mechanic, gave each member a list of items to procure. So, off they go, with a little daydreaming to add color to the festivities…
Added by Jeremy right around noon: Great idea for a post, Jeff! Let me also add that not only did the band want to fix up their van post-crash to get it into a drive-able state, but that upon adding Elle to the mix back in Kilgore TX, the decision was made to renovate the van to make it more comfortable for the foursome. So these little quests are not only for finding parts to fix the van, but also to make some adjustments, per Bal and Chester’s schematics (initiated here and shown (in part) here).
Are you all sure we haven’t crossed paths? I’m not making this up, a year later they wanted singer A to learn to play bass to have her on hand in case singer B bolted.
Mary, I promise this is just a happy coincidence. Wait… maybe Jeff is stalking your life. EEEEEEK!!!
Don’t worry, Elle. You can take that little twit any day of the week.
I’m with @Jamie, Elle just needs to finish that sixth shot of 1 Ouro and take her 7th shot out on Lorelai.
The shading in the last panel on Elle is awesome. Not only do we see that the spotlight has indeed shifted, but we see that 1 truly is the lonliest number.
Yet again the lead guitarist of Elle’s Belles face continues to elude us. So now that Elle is taking a back seat will they change the name of the band? That would definitely be the final nail.
And again, Todd! I sure do like your turn of the phrase in your comments. It is always very pleasing to read one of your comments. You are always thinking everything out really well, and expressing that. Thanks for reading, as always! Glad you see symbolism in the comic, too 🙂
Is that Keith I see on the back wall poster, and perhaps Jeff in a MWH poster???
You may be seeing Keith doubled. and yeah, that might just be a hint of Jeff, too.
Yeah, I made the same observation – looks like Keith Wilson/Saint Narcissus/the frontman from Movies With Heroes!
