Jeremy: Hey look! It’s the van again. Our characters have explored several blocks of downtown Lancaster in the course of the better portion of a day in “Bro Time” (to all of us, that’s oh… about 2.5 months). When’s that show again? Oh yeah! It’s the following day… You know what that means? We still have a couple things planned to happen in Lancaster before our story is finished. Hopefully it has been an entertaining adventure so far, and you’re not all standing around looking like Balthazar in panel 3. Thanks for reading!
Jeff: Yeah, this is one of those strips that, if this were an episode of a TV show, the reviewers would be complaining about how its purpose was just to put all the players into their proper places for later, much like season 5 of Lost. But, also much like season 5 of Lost, it can still be very cool, with subtext and hidden meanings and shadowy figures holding leashes…
Okay, I guess it’s not that much like season 5 of Lost…
I loved the fashion show at the Salvation Army and the tattoo/caffeine scene.
I would have to agree with @MAC, the fashion show at the Salvation Army was a really cool idea and a lot of fun to see them in all the different styles. The Lancaster stop has been really cool to see all the downtown locations that you drew. I have never been to Lancaster, I may need to hitch up my buggy and get up there some day; but I did enjoy going to Google Maps and turning on the street view and looking at some of the locals you drew. You did an awesome job.
This story line has been really cool. It gave us a new perspective on Elle, and even as we see here she’s questionable about just leaving the brothers hanging out in the wind.
I know I’ve said it a ton of times before, but I just have to say it again y’alls collaboration on making Ouro Bros. is just phenomenal. You guys really work well together and have created two characters that I get eager to share a Thursday with every week.
Can’t wait to see where the tour takes them now. Oh, and a nice Pinky and the Brain dialog setup in Panel 1. 🙂
Aha! I was wondering why Jeff tweeted this morning about “Pinky and the Bal”. I had no idea we put a Pinky and the Brain reference in this comic until reading your comment, Todd. And now I can’t see how I could have missed it.
And thank you so much for being a regular reader of the Ouro Bros, and for your great, well thought-out, comments. It is an honor to make comics for people like you!
I’m split between the GPS “recalculating” and the “Coffee – make it a decaf” scenes, mostly because I know people who would do both of these. But I also know people who would run down the street looking for a coffee shop (but they would definitely go for the caffeine!). Actually, I loved all of them. Hope to see more of Elle with the brothers.
Two things, in this order: 1) The Bill & Ted reference in the Salvation Army fashion show part, and 2) The Chameleon Club lineup sheet. Also, kudos on the Pinky & The Brain reference this week.
My favorite part was all the crazy hijinks that arise from one woman and two guys sharing one motel room.
Oh wait, that *didn’t* happen.
Would have been too cliche’.
